I’ve long admired the work Shaping Our Future does in helping communities have their voices heard, so I’m absolutely delighted to now join the board.
In 2008 I saw the light and moved to Arrowtown from Auckland. For years I’d visited the Queenstown Lakes to go adventuring – and finally it clicked that if I lived here I could do the things I love every day instead of only on holiday. Since arriving I’ve been a volunteer firefighter and a founding member of the Arrowtown Community Response Group, as well as getting involved in community organisations like the Arrowtown Village Association and Queenstown Film Society.
I’ve spent my entire career in communications. I started out writing, editing and designing books and ended up writing promotional copy, managing social media accounts and building websites. With Shaping Our Future I hope to use those skills to help local people identify their shared values, dreams and ambitions and advocate for the future they want.
