Executive Officer – Shaping Our Future
Location: Queenstown Lakes District
6-month part-time contract, 20 hours per week | Flexible Hours | Hybrid Remote and In-person

Are you passionate about building stronger communities and fostering greater democratic
participation? Shaping Our Future (SoF), a respected not-for-profit charitable organisation based in
Queenstown, is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Executive Officer to lead our operational,
facilitation, and administrative functions.

SoF is governed by a volunteer Board and plays a pivotal role in creating a better future for the
Queenstown Lakes District by encouraging community-led visioning and action. This is an exciting
opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the region’s long-term wellbeing and sustainability.

About the Role

Reporting to the Board Chair, you will be responsible for:

Fostering, facilitating, and reporting on community-led initiatives
Overseeing daily activities to ensure effective and efficient operations
Supporting the Board in maintaining robust systems, policies, and processes
Assisting with the development and implementation of strategic priorities
Managing financial, administrative, and reporting processes
Acting as the key contact for stakeholders, partners, and the community

This role offers flexibility and variety, ideal for someone who is organised, people-oriented, and values
community engagement.

About You:
You will bring strong facilitation, communication, and organisational skills, experience in managing
operations (ideally in the not-for-profit or community sector), and a passion for positive community
change. Experience in stakeholder management and a proactive, solution-focused attitude are key.
