Community Priorities: Tourism, Infrastructure/Facilities, Diverse Economy

In April 2014 we held our first Visitor and Tourism Industry forum. Our volunteer taskforce met regularly over the next six months preparing their draft report that was returned to public forum in November 2014. The final report includes a compelling vision for the District encompassing visitor experience, quality of life for the community, environment (natural and built), traffic and transport and ‘destination management’ – each with their own challenges. Seven key recommendations were developed as actions towards achieving the vision.
