Whakatipu Water Taskforce Online Session

Shaping our Future (SoF) facilitated an online session to present the newly released Whakatipu Water Report 2020-21 to the community on 9th September 2021 via Zoom with 24 attendees.
David Rider, Deputy Chair of the Whakatipu Water Task force presented the report by highlighting its key recommendations, followed by an open discussion.
Two key outcomes were drawn from the session:
- A community-driven action will define, protect, and regenerate the freshwater of our lakes and rivers in the Whakatipu to deliver the freshwater vision.
- Joining forces with existing groups in the district will move forward with the formation of a local body to deliver those outcomes.
